This memorial website was created to remember our dearest Harold 'Daddy/Gramps' Lillehei, who was born in Port Orchard, WA September 06, 1908 to George and Hillbertina (Reitan) Lillehei. He graduated from South Kitsap HS in 1926, attended the University of Washington and Northwestern University in Chicago, IL where he played football. He married Ellen Jorstad March 28, 1937. She preceded him in death in 1957. He was remarried on November 28, 1959 to Doris Adley. She preceded him in death in 1994. Harold was also preceded in death by 2 brothers and 4 sisters.


Harold worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 32 years as an Inside Machinist retiring in 1959. He was Lutheran, volunteered for the Salvation Army and was past Curator of the Maritime Museum in Bremerton. Harold was a builder, woodworker and gardener and enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling.  Harold enjoyed a wonderful 100th birthday celebration in July.  Thanks to all who attended to help celebrate and make a very memorable and special time together.


He is survived by daughters Jo Ellen Nelson (John) of Dallas, TX and Judy Garoutte (Ruffus) of Union, WA; 6 grandchildren Dr. J. Michael Nelson, Suzanne Nelson-Staner, Patti Madison, Don and Lyle Garoutte and Jolie Ewart; 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
